Student Article - Living in London
Author: Lailah Kara-newton
This sounds like the most enjoyable experience you will ever have, but London has it's downsides. These come in the form of expenses.
Consider that Student finance last year offered the same student, aaprox 12000 in total for a degree course and living out in London (Uxbridge), which was reduced to approx. 6000 for the same course, living out in Brighton.
Bills, council tax, groceries, travel (even with an oyster card), clubbing (average 10-15 Friday night),and even expenses such as dental bills. All are significantly increased in London.
So accomodation is key, work out all these average expenses and calculate costs per week, use your extimated stduent loan to see what exactly you can afford.
London is amaizing so don't let your experience be filled with stress and money worries.
