Queensland University of Technology
Having been established in 1989, Queensland University of Technology is a public research university with two campuses in the Brisbane area. They are known as "the university for the real World" due to their close links with industry along with relevant teaching and applied research.

Rankings
Times Higher Education ranks Queensland University of Technology as the joint 11th best univeristy in Australia, with it ranking 21st in the Times Young University list.
Employability
Every year the university hosts The Big Meet, a free one-day careers fair held at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre, allowing students to talk to potential employers. The university also provides Employ Your Ability, an series of free online modules to improve student skills.
Fees
The Maximum Student Contribution amount from 1st January 2022 per EFTSL is A$3,985 for Band 1, A$8,021 for Band 2, A$11,401 for Band 3 and A$14,630 for Band 4. For International Students, tuition fees can range from A$18,520-26,000 per year, depending on the field of study.
Bursaries
There is a large variety of different scholarships and bursaries offered by Queensland University of Technology, focused on supporting Aboriginals, helping those from a less affluent background or rewarding those who have achieved extremely well in certain academic or sporting areas.
Accommodation
With the University providing student residential complexes - along with other residential complexes or agent-oparated student accomodation - there is a wide range of different living arrangements available within walking distance, or with strong public transport links, to the campuses.

The QUT Guild is a non-profit, student-led organisation which aims to make the university experience as engaging and enjoyable as possible. They offer academic advocacy, support and funding for QUT clubs and societies, internship and volunteer programs, graduation gown hire and events and workshops.


Famous for
Peter Beattie, the former President for Queensland from 1998 to 2007, completed a Masters of Arts degree and QUT before he began practicing as a lawyer.
News
The new Chancellor of QUT - businesswoman and alumna Ann Sherry AO - is looking to improve the inclusivity in the university, especially when it comes to women in STEM.
