  • Rankings

    In 2021, the university was ranked 2nd in Australia and 40th globally. It is also ranked 5th in the QS World University rankings for sustainability 2023. In Australia, it is ranked 1st for a range of programmes such as medicine, arts and humanities, management, nursing and oncology. All of its courses rank within the top 3 or 5 in Australia.

  • Employability

    The university is ranked 1st in Australia and 4th globally for graduate employability according to Top Universities. Their careers service helps students to plan a career path, write job applications and find jobs. Hosting regular workshops and events, students can receive a range of careers support. Those studying within the Business School also have access to a team of business career experts.

  • Fees

    Fees are paid for each unit you take. This means the amount students pay varies on course and whether you are a domestic or international student. All students pay the Student Services and Amenities Fee to fund non-academic services. A full breakdown and costs can be found here.

  • Bursaries

    The university has a range of bursaries available for students who need additional financial support and meet the criteria listed here. Scholarships are available for both domestic and international students and some are additionally awarded for academic achievements.

Accommodation

Student residences offered by the university are affordable and inclusive. Students can live at either Camperdown and Darlington, which has university residences and residential colleges or Camden, which has two halls of residences. There are also options to live off campus in the city too.

USU aims to be at the heart of campus and has been doing so since 1874! With over 200 clubs, all students have the opportunity to meet others, get involved in university life and make new friends. It is free to join and students can also find job opportunities such as supervisor or barista roles through the USU.

News

In December 2022, the university announced it was changing the way it supports students from disadvantaged backgrounds. The new MySydney scholarship package offers eligible students both financial and non-financial support to ensure they can thrive at the university, make friends and access mentoring programmes. This offers talented students the chance to attend a top rated university.
