Established in 1994, first opening in 1996 as the Sunshine Coast University College before changing to its current name in 1999, University of the Sunshine Coast prides itself on its modern facilities and outlook to education. As of 2020, UniSC ranks as the 6th best university in Australia for student experience.

    Times Higher Education ranks the University of the Sunshine Coast as the equal 33rd best University in Australia. UniSC also ranks 160th globalyly in the Young University Rankings.

  • Employability

    According to a 2020 survey, UniSc is one of the top 5 universities in Australia when it comes to teaching. This combined with the support offered from the Careers and Employability team means students are given are given the best chance of maximising their employability.

  • Fees

    The Maximum Student Contribution amount from 1st January 2022 per EFTSL is A$3,985 for Band 1, A$8,021 for Band 2, A$11,401 for Band 3 and A$14,630 for Band 4. For International Students, tuition fees can range from A$18,520-26,000 per year, depending on the field of study.

  • Bursaries

    Over AU$4.3 Million is available to UniSC students every years through bursaries and scholariships, with over 1,500 students being supported anually. There is a wide range of different options, such as merit, equity or regional scholarships. The university also clearly shows what steps students need to take in order to apply for finacial support on their website.

Accommodation

There is a wide range of different accomodation options loacted close to the university campus, whether that be student villages, shared accomodation or single person housing. There is also a scheme called Homestay in which students get to live with an Australian family, which is often appealing to international students.

The University of the Sunshine Coast Student Guild is a non-profit organisation ran to support and represent students along with enriching the student experience. Some of the services its provides include clubs and societies, confidential welfare support, a food bank and community kitchen and budgeting workshops amongst many others.

UniSC is a premier university for those looking to study health and sports science, with nationally accredited facilities.

News

In December 2022, UniSC bcame the first university in Queensland to offer prosthetics and orthotics as an undergraduate degree.
