Living in Lancaster as a student
The historic city of Lancaster is an ideal location for students; it is the perfect University location for many people because it is packed with historical architecture and excellent university experiences.
For many students, including those from overseas, the University of Lancaster provides an excellent balance between educational excellence and an impressive student lifestyle. The city has a small train station, excellent bus services but it's also the ideal city for walking and cycling around with lots of secure places to leave bikes in town and on the University campus.
The University also offers excellent facilities, which are used by local people as well, including a cinema on the campus and lots of societies with a focus on sports. Indeed, the University of Lancaster also offers good accommodation with their halls winning the 'best university halls' title in the National Student Survey several times. There is also good provision for students wanting private accommodation as well. The University has invested heavily in its infrastructure and facilities so most of the campus is modern and well designed. Off-campus, there's a lot for students to do with excellent nightlife including bars and restaurants and for those who want to venture a little further, then Blackpool is within easy reach.
