The median starting salary is £32,500, so this is definitely an area to look into. 3. Banking and Finance If you’re good with numbers this is definitely one of the areas you should be looking into. Now the UK is out of recession the economy is growing and banking is becoming a secure sector to work in once more. With a median starting salary of £36,500 it’s definitely time to get excited about numbers. 2. Law Law is a large area and there are lots of different areas to specialize in, from environmental to commercial. The median starting salary is a whooping £40,000. Expect to spend the majority of your time pouring over old case files, as law is a demanding career. 1. Investment Banking This is the sector with the highest median starting salary and it’s an incredible £45,000! You’d really have to earn it though as investment banking is a full on job. Working as the middle man between clients and dealing with huge trades with tons of cash changing hands. If you’d like a challenge and are good at maths, this could be the right area for you to look into!
