Here’s How The WORST Student Accommodation In The World Looks

Before you headed off to university, you likely heard a few horror stories about first-year halls. People might have told you that your room will be no larger than a cell or that the communal bathroom will be a bacteria-ridden haven. When you got to university, though, you soon realised that most of these stories were tall tales, to say the least. These days, university accommodation tends to be modern and swish, rather than smelly and dirty.

Well, if you happened to go to university in Macedonia, things might have been just a little different. The Goce Delcey building is home to 1200 students, but the conditions are truly horrific. Recently, there were a bunch of pictures of the place posted on Imgur and we have to say, we can’t believe how run-down the place is.

Neither the radiators or the lights actually work in the building, and the place is full of damp and decay. From the pictures, it’s clear to see that there has been no maintenance work here for quite some time.

There is also a problem with leaking pipes in the building, which has lead to there being dangerous puddles and even pools of water all over the place.

And, when the students want hot water, they have to go to a different block. Apparently, the hot water is filtered through different blocks throughout the year. That means that it’s pot luck as to whether your block will actually have hot water at all.

You’ll be surprised to learn that this is actually a catered living space, but for some reason, that does not mean that all the students have access to food on site. In fact, there is only enough food to cover 1/4 of the students living in the building.

That means that if a student wants to get their meal, they must queue up hours and hours in advance. Even then, there is no certainty that they will actually get a hot meal at the end of their wait.

Mind you, you really would not want to eat here – the kitchen is of the same standard as the rest of the building, which means that you can never be sure that a meal has been prepared in a sanitary area. Yikes.

We have to say, this is the worst accommodation we have ever seen. In fact, it’s so very bad, that it even pales in comparison to some prisons. And you thought your first-year halls were bad, right?
