All Recipes also gives you instant access to their endless collection of member-submitted recipes, with photos, ratings and reviews from more than 11 million contributors.

3. Wally

Available for free on Android & iPhone

One of the simplest and most attractive finance and budgeting apps out there, Wally is a must-have in a studentís app armoury. Track your expenses with ease with the incredibly quick and intuitive interface. Discover what you are really spending (or wasting!) your money on. This great new app is a simple way of keeping track of your hard-to-keep-track-of spending.

4. Snapchat

Available for free on Android & iPhone

A widely used app among students, Snapchat is a great way to communicate quickly and visually with your friends. Whether itís a quick selfie to show your distress to your flatmate for not coming with you on a night out, or a video of a funny gaff you saw on campus, Snapchat is one of the best ways to get your message across.

5.Maths Alarm Clock

Available for free on Android

One of the hardest things for many students is getting up at a reasonable hour. This quirky little number makes you solve a maths problem in order to turn off your alarm Ė if that doesnít get you up in the morning then maybe nothing will.

6. TED

Available for free on Android & iPhone

TED is a database of talks from education pioneers, tech wizards, business gurus and learned communicators. The talks, usually lasting an easily digestible 20 minutes, are a great way to learn new ideas and get to grips with interesting points of view. The TED mobile app is therefore a great resource for the inquisitive student.

7. Glide

Glide, the utilities and service provider for students, has produced an app that makes it simple for students to keep on top of their utility bills. Now students can rapture and upload photos of their meter reading from their mobile, replacing the regular visits from the meter-reading-man and making monitoring, paying, and keeping track of bills effortless.

8. Dropbox

Availabe for free on Android & iPhone

No more should students be afraid of losing their notes and coursework. Storing your precious files in the cloud for safe keeping and ease of access has never been easier with Dropbox. Upload your documents, photos, and videos to Dropbox and get them online whenever, wherever, and across all your devices. The only thing needed to access your files is an internet connection, so with the Dropbox app all your files will always be at your fingertips.
