Top Universities in the UK

If you’ve just finished writing your personal statement you may be looking at what university you want to attend. We asked students what universities in the UK they thought were the best, here’s what our survey said:

  1. University of Exeter
  2. Manchester Metropolitan University
  3. University of York
  4. University of Plymouth
  5. University of Manchester
  6. Nottingham Trent University
  7. Cardiff University

Our survey ranked 112 universities and students gave their responses based off of the quality of their lectures, university resources and how much they enjoyed their experience there. Lots of websites give you statistics for which university they determine to be ‘the best’ but there is no better way to find out which is most suited for you than by listening to what current students have to say.

Whilst choosing the right course and university is a very important decision, it is also important to take into account your social life too! So, despite what the ranking may say you may have different priorities – some students prefer noisier night life in comparison to a quiet evening in (and vice versa.) Take a look at each university that you are considering and discover what societies and clubs are available, as well as whether your course will allow you to gain work experience and investigate how good the accommodation is because all of these additional factors will play a part in you enjoying your university experience.

If you are still curious to find out more about each city then you can find out more via our city guides (click on the listed hyperlinks.)

Once you’ve made your decision, submitted your application and accepted your offers, the next stage is to sort out your student finance and find the best accommodation for you!
