Your worst exam horror stories: revealed!

Exam season is the worst time of the year! Fortunately, you are not alone in your suffering as there are usually other people in the room who are also being forced to sit the same exam maybe also contributing to the nightmare). We spoke to students across the country about their worst exam horror stories and they did not disappoint:

Matt, 20, Sports Science:

“I feel like this has happened to everyone, but we had all queued up and sat down ready for our exam, when someone had set the fire alarm off. Turned out that it was the friend of someone in our class. So, we all had to evacuate the building but once they realised it was a false alarm we had to go back in and sit the exam anyway because we hadn’t even opened the papers before the alarm had been set off. They could’ve at least waited until we were part the way through so that they would reschedule the exam and give us more time to revise!”

Jessie, 22, Criminology:

“Someone threw up in the middle of our exam, it was probably nerves. But yeah, enough said.”

Giorgia, 21, English Literature and Creative Writing:

“There was a girl quite prone to fainting in our class and she fainted in the middle of our exam, so we had to pause, and wait for her to leave before we carried on.”

George, 19, Maths:

“Not quite a horror story, but there’s nothing worse than when the invigilator wears high heels because they always insist on walking up and down the aisles continuously. All we could concentrate on throughout the whole exam was the click clack sound.”

Cassie, 23, Politics:

“I always get nervous to the point where I feel sick before an exam, so I didn’t eat anything at all before. That was a big mistake because my stomach growled the whole time and it was so loud that someone brought me in a breakfast bar the next day so that I wouldn’t disturb them!”
