We have continued to make further enhancements to

over the last few months, resulting in significant improvements to the user
experience and ultimately, a smoother and more effective process for
connecting students and landlords.
It is now possible for a student to conduct the entire process of searching
for, enquiring about and securing a property on the new version of AFS.
This includes a new home page, search results, city landing page, property
results and enquiry function. The main outcome of this work so far has been
to make our website much easier and more appealing to use, particularly on
mobile devices.
Thus far we are delighted with the outcome of our work and in particular
the positive results it has had for our advertisers, in terms of increases
in the number of enquiries we have generated for them. However, it is not
the end point, as there is still much more that we want to do, to further
improve our service to you.
We have started with these areas of the website because we felt they would
make the biggest difference to our users. Now that we have completed them
we will turn our attention to other aspects of the site.
At present we are working on an improved solution for banner advertisements
on AFS, so that we will be able to more effectively deploy such adverts and
improve the results they generate. Once complete we will then turn our
attention to developing and launching a feed for agents and landlords that
wish to upload larger property portfolios to our website.
Once the feeds are in development, we will then take the opportunity to
review progress and prioritise the next phase of development. Projects that
will be considered will include improvements to the admin sections of the
site (to make it easier to upload properties), upgrades to the housemates
and content sections of AFS and further enhancements to the off-site
communication process (e.g. email and text message).
The process of developing AFS is ongoing, as we seek to make improvements,
without damaging some of the strengths of the original website. Therefore
you can expect to see further changes to AFS throughout 2018 and into 2019.
