Look Beyond University Halls

If university-managed halls are full, whether on campus or in a student village, explore private halls or shared houses through external providers. These often provide a similar experience to normal student halls with added amenities you might not find in the university managed options, like social spaces, or events. 

Broaden Your Search Area

Be flexible with the location of your accommodation if you’re in a hurry! Sure, it might not be a 2 minute walk from the university, but it can be slightly more affordable and available last-minute after clearing. Use public transport options like trains or local bus networks, and use apps to check travel times to campus and back. 

Join Student Housing Groups

Social media groups are super useful when finding housemates or last-minute accommodation in your student city. Look for university-specific groups on social media sites or on specific platforms. 

Your university might also offer support in connecting you with people in similar situations or offer accommodation fairs and other events to help out. Ask your student’s union or admissions team for more advice and information!
