70% of students think that bills inclusive rents are important
The demand for all-inclusive bills from students nationwide is growing year on year supported by a recent AFS student survey where 70% of the students who responded indicated that it was important to have bills included in the price of their rent. As a result, many landlords are now faced with the difficult conundrum of whether to offer this service themselves.

Feedback is that landlords are often deterred from offering bills-included because of the hassle of monitoring usage, the fear that students will overuse and leave a high bill once they have vacated the property and the endless stream of time consuming administrative tasks required on top of an already busy schedule.

That’s why AFS have recently teamed up with Glide, a serviced utilities provider specifically catering for the student accommodation market to help make it easier for landlords to offer this service and attract more tenants. Glide supplies one simple itemised bill for all services across an entire property portfolio. This enables property businesses to offer bills included in the rent price of their properties with minimal administration and fixed tariffs to control costs, making it easier to offer bills-inclusive rents. Landlords also have access to an online portal to manage their bills and monitor the usage of all tenant households.

If you’re interested in letting Glide help you offer bills-included rent to your tenants simply log onto your AFS landlord account, click the ‘Offer bills inclusive rents’ option, submit your interest and we’ll contact you with more information. Alternatively, email your details to marketing@accommodationforstudents.com.
