AFS Webinar, Thursday 23rd September 2021.

The first webinar of our Autumn series will be on Students and their attitudes towards sustainability. The session is based on our most recent research, which looked in depth at students, their attitudes to sustainability and how they apply to their accommodation choices.

The context

Most people would accept that this is an important topic, given the environmental challenges we all face. In particular and practical terms it is likely that in the medium term there will be increasing levels of legislation in this area for the sector to get to grips with.

For this project the AFS team set out to discover what students thought about the topic and how it might impact on their accommodation choices. We also wanted to understand how this might impact on landlords, agents and PBSA operators.

The opportunity

By understanding some of these issues, there is an opportunity to capitalise on these trends, benefiting all parties as well as behaving in a more sustainable way. It is a timely moment to discuss these issues, as we approach another letting season and we continue to see the growth of bills inclusive rents and their potential negative environmental impact.

The session

The webinar will be hosted by Simon Thompson and Nick Emms and held on Thursday 23rd of September at 2.30pm. It will last 30 mins with some time available for questions. In addition to focusing on the research results we will also include some observations on the start of the new term.

The session is of course free to attend and you can sign up right here. https://us02web.zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_raKikCPURXi_OfysnyUs6g
