Roehampton University
The University of Roehampton is a campus university in southwest London, built around four historic colleges: Digby Stuart, Froebel, Southlands and Whitelands. Its main campus has 54 acres of parkland, while the nearby Whitelands campus overlooks Richmond Park, giving students plenty of green space alongside their London university experience.

The University of Roehampton is ranked 123rd in the Complete University Guide 2027. It received Silver overall, and for both student experience and student outcomes, in the Teaching Excellence Framework 2023.
Employability
Roehampton’s Student Futures team helps students explore career options, build their CVs, prepare for interviews and find work experience. Students can access employer events, placements and vacancies through the University’s careers services. Support continues after graduation, with lifetime access to careers advice.
Fees
For 2026/27, standard full-time undergraduate tuition fees are £9,790 for the first year for students paying home fees. International and postgraduate fees vary by course, and foundation-year fees may differ. Students should check their chosen course page for confirmed fees and any additional course costs.
Bursaries
Financial support includes the £1,000 Roehampton Bursary for eligible first-year undergraduates and the Commuter Bursary, worth up to £1,000 a year towards travel costs. Academic Excellence Scholarships offer up to £3,000 across a degree, with separate awards for sport, esports and care leavers. Eligibility and application requirements vary between schemes.
Accommodation
Roehampton offers on-campus accommodation across its four colleges, with options for new undergraduates, returning students and postgraduates. For 2026/27, shared twin rooms cost £115 per person per week, while basic single rooms cost £146 per week. Rent includes utilities, Wi-Fi, contents insurance and laundry. Students should check the accommodation guarantee conditions and deadlines before booking.

Students' Union
Roehampton Students’ Union offers student-led societies, social events, trips and activities to help students get involved and meet new people. Its elected officers represent students’ views, while the independent Advice and Support Service provides free, confidential guidance on academic issues, housing and student finance.
Famous for
Notable former students include author Darren Shan and footballer Joey Barton, who studied philosophy at Roehampton. The University’s current Chancellor is Baroness Sandip Verma.
News
In February 2026, Roehampton opened the Dorothy Buchanan Building, the new home of its Sustainable Engineering and Technology Centre. Facilities include engineering workshops, digital and environmental laboratories, project studios and a computer-aided design suite, giving students practical spaces to develop their skills.
