The University of Portsmouth was established in 1992 when it gained university status. However it dates back as far as the 1870’s and now attracts over 25,500 students each year.

    The University of Portsmouth ranked in the top 400-600 in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings for 2024 and places 45th in the UK.

  • Employability

    Students currently studying with or having graduated within five years can benefit from the careers and employability service. Support includes advice, job hunting help, employability workshops and recruitment events.

  • Fees

The Students’ Union provides events like the Virtual Freshers Fayre and over 140 different societies and clubs which can be found here, there is plenty for students to do.

News

The University announced in October 2020 that it was partnering with the TechnoGym to deliver health and fitness solutions in their brand new £57 million sports centre. It has been designed to high sustainability credentials even receiving an Outstanding from the worlds leading building sustainability assessment.
