York St John University
York St John was established in 1841 as York Diocesan College for men and later added a college for women in 1846 before the women’s college relocated to Ripon. The two colleges merged in 1974 to form the College of Ripon and York St John before becoming York St John university in 2006. The university had 6620 students as of 2018 with 790 of these being postgraduates.
