I had a great experience living in this house. The location is ideal, close to town and a quick cycle to campus (though a long walk). The property is excellent, with spacious rooms, a lovely communal area, and a great garden. The kitchen is slightly small but functional. The landlord was very helpful and responsive whenever we needed anything. Overall, a great place to live.

Living at Blackboy Road for the past two years has been a great experience. The location is excellent as it is situated conveniently between both campuses. It’s about a 20-minute walk to Streatham and only 10 minutes to St Luke’s; if you prefer to cycle to campus there is space for a few bikes in the garden under shelter. The city centre is also nearby, with plenty of cafes, restaurants and shops. Furthermore, 5 minutes down the road is the bus depot with frequent local services across Devon as well as national routes. The property itself was comfortable and well-maintained. The rooms were spacious with lots of room for storage. The living room area was a standout feature, with plenty of room to relax or socialise, and it came with a good TV which made it a great space for winding down after lectures. My only complaint about the house would be the size of the kitchen as it can sometimes get quite hectic and the smoke alarm is very sensitive as it frequently goes off - this may be due to the lack of an extractor fan. The landlord was also very responsive and helpful. Any maintenance issues were dealt with quickly, and communication was always clear and professional. Overall, Blackboy Road has been very great place to live at a very reasonable price. Would definitely recommend.

The location is amazing, really close to both campuses and close to town, bus stop right outside the house. Property was extremely clean well kept and looked after, and decorated nicely. A couple of technical problems in the house which the landlord sorted out straight away. Lots of fire checks, and the landlord came to visit often to ensure everything was okay. The landlord is super friendly and a great guy we could approach him with anything, sorted out any problems. There was also a gardener which was a super nice touch so we could spend time in the garden. House is spacious with nice little touches to make it more homely.

The location of the house is perfect it’s close to both Streatham and St Luke’s Campus. It’s like a 20 minute walk to town and major train stations in Exeter. The property it self is really cosy and spacious. When we needed anything being done in the house or had any questions the landlord was always very helpful and kind.

I loved this house, it was a warm and friendly place to live! The house was in the perfect location, and any issues we had were dealt with quickly by Charlie. 10/10 :)

The house is around a 20 minute walk from Streatham campus so in good proximity for the University, as well as close to the city centre. The property is well maintained and my bedroom was very spacious. The landlord was very helpful and quick to respond to any questions or concerns. Being very good value for money I think overall it was a great student house.

Great house, only a 20/25 minute walk to uni and close to town too. Landlord is always on top of things and responds quickly.

I thoroughly enjoyed my experience living in Blackboy Road. It was in a great location that is close to town and the university. It's also close to public transport which is good for getting around. The property was clean and well cared for when we moved in, and the landlord did frequent maintenance checks throughout the year to make sure everything was working for us. Our landlord Charlie was also very easy to contact when we had a problem, and always addressed any concerns we had quickly. Overall, I would absolutely recommend Blackboy Road, or any other property managed by our landlord, to students in Exeter.

The property is beautiful and well kept, with double bedrooms which are bright and cosy. The accompanying garden is brilliant for evenings in the summer. University is about 20 minutes walk away, and town is about 15 making the house ideal for commuting on foot. The bus stop right outside also provides direct transport to the North and South sides of Exeter (including to good food shops!) The landlord is incredibly helpful and responsive via text. He does regular checks on the house to note and tackle issues. I’d highly recommend living here - its been an amazing two years of student housing!

42 Blackboy Road was a wonderful place to live. Spacious, light, well furnished, professionally finished and cozy- saying it was a pleasure to live in was an understatement. With a walk of only 20 minutes to uni, and 5 minutes into town- it was the ideal location for students. Charlie was also an incredible landlord, who was quick to respond to messages and diligent in fixing any issues with the house for us. We felt safe and listened to as Tenants. Thank you Charlie!

I have absolutely loved living at Blackboy Road, because of the location (a nice distance from town and campus), the landlord (very helpful and responsive), and the house itself (very well kept, spacious, and cosy). I would 100% recommend living here as the landlord was very nice and considerate, it’s an amazing location, and the house itself is very lovely.

The location was very convenient for being close to all the important places as a uni student and being in a relatively nice location on its own. The property was very comfortable and had everything you needed, it had a good amount of space, only thing is that an extractor fan would be good in the relatively small kitchen. The landlord was very responsive, kind and quick to respond. Definitely the best landlord I've had by far

  15. E

    Ellie

The property is well kept and in a perfect location for both university and the high street which is incredibly useful. I found it very easy to get to and from university. The landlord always helps out with anything that goes wrong in the house as quickly as possible. Recently this has included fixing an accidental breakage for free and giving a discount on rent after the freezer broke. He is easy to communicate with and very friendly. I wholeheartedly recommend living here! :)

Charlie is a great landlord! The house is lovely and very homely, as well as having a decent sized garden. Whenever there’s been a problem (I.e. oven breaking!) Charlie sorts it straight away with no hassle. Couldn’t recommend him enough!

  18. J

    Joseph

The location of the property is very central and within a 20 minute walk of Streatham campus. The house was very presentable, with spacious rooms. It would be ideal to have had a bigger kitchen as it was sometimes a squeeze. If anything went wrong the landlord Charlie was very responsive and organised repair in a reasonable period of time. Overall I have enjoyed my time at 42 Blackboy Rd.

Fantastic house close to Uni and town. The house and bedrooms are so well equipped with good quality and stylish furniture. The landlord Charlie is fantastic! He is so easy to get hold of and so responsive, he will fix any problems or replace anything faulty immediately. Charlie also provided a gardener who came regularly in the summer months which was a fantastic bonus. Charlie was so considerate throughout the pandemic with personal financial situations of all his tenants which really shows what a great landlord he is.

I wholeheartedly give this property and the landlord 10 out of 10. I couldn't fault my experience of living here in any way. The landlord has always been available and sorted any issues extremely quickly and efficiently. The rooms were light and spacious with laminate floors (no nasty carpets!) and were furnished with desks, chest of drawers and a wardrobe each. All were in great condition. Rental rates were extremely competitive, affordable and great value for money. You won't find a better student property - I've tried!

The house was recently refurbished and had all the necessary appliances (including an amazing fridge/freezer). Whenever there were any problems with anything in the house the landlord was prompt and nice about it, calling whoever was needed round or even coming himself if it was required. All in all I spent a great 2 years there.

Our house has shaped our University experience - it's homely and quirky, and the rent is so reasonable. The bedrooms are really spacious and there is a lovely garden. Plus the landlord is very approachable and has been great at responding to our needs. The house will be sorely missed!

I had a lot of fun in this lovely house, and our landlord was always accomodating when there were any problems. There are modern furnishings and all the mod-cons you could want as a student. I was sad to move out.

The house on Mt Pleasant is spacious and modern. Even though there are seven bedrooms they are all of a good size and the furniture is well looked after. The landlord is easy to get hold of and is understanding of the needs of student tenants.

  26. B

    Bradley

A very good landlord and a very good student house. The landlord is prompt if there is a problem but also not over-bearing. No surprise inspections or unwelcome visits. He is always cheerful and ignores the little bits of mess that may have accumulated like a pro! The house was in good condition and had many appliances which other student houses could only dream of! On the whole a fantastic uni experience helped massively by a fantastic house.

  27. P

    Philippa

The house is modern, clean and bright and very obviously well looked after by the landlord. The kitchen is modern, the bedrooms all have double beds, there are two bathrooms and a spacious living room too. The landlord is also fantastic- he is efficient and organised yet also understanding and caring about his tennants. I would thoroughly recommend living here to anyone!

I have rented from Town House Properties for three years (two years at Monkswell and one year at Oxford Road) and have had an excellent time all three years. The houses are all lovely, cool and modern. Ace furniture, appliances and all really clean. The landlord is very friendly and approachable. Definitely worth viewing any of the houses.
