The location was great and was within a short walking distance from both Streatham campus and St Luke’s. I really enjoyed my time living in the property and found Charlie to be a helpful landlord.

The house is in a great location - easy walk onto campus and equally into town. Very accessible with a small shop nearby as well. The house itself is great and amazing value for money. Although some areas are a little smaller than other uni houses, it is still very liveable and did not affect us during our stay. Charlie was a great landlord! Always responded quickly if any maintenance work was needed and very understand. He was also very proactive and ensured that we always felt we had everything needed during our tenancy period. I highly recommend him as a landlord, and this property.

Charlie was a fantastic landlord who solved issues efficiently and maintained good communication throughout the year. The house was in fantastic condition and we never had any issues with insulation and heating as you would conventionally find in other university houses. The house is a leisurely walk from both campuses which made commuting easy and enjoyable. Couldn’t recommend enough! Thank you Charlie

My favourite student housing I’ve stayed in! Landlord was very helpful, communicative and flexible as well as being exceptionally reliable. The location was in walking distance to both the city centre and campus, making everything easily accessible even without a car. Lovely area to live in without being overly loud or noisy, would highly recommend and would stay another year if I could!

I lived in Monkswell Road in 2025/2026, Charlie is a really helpful landlord, anything that needed fixing was organised quickly and easily. He was easy to communicate with and to reach when you need something. The rent was really reasonably priced compared to others in the area and bills were included which was such a bonus!! Me and the others living in the house would definitely recommend Charlie, we had a great year!

The location of the house is reasonably good both for distance to the University campus and the town centre. The walks to campus and town are both simple 15-20 minute walks. Parking can be a little busy but there’s bound to be a spot close enough to the house. The house is great value and has all that it needs, although the communal area isn’t very spacious for parties or lots of people trying to cook at once etc. The landlord Charlie is very communicative and friendly, he’s always been helpful and reasonable with any issues we’ve raised in the three years that I have lived here.

I have lived in this property for 3 years, with the location to both campuses being walkable, same with town and supermarkets. The landlord is excellent, is happy to help with any problems, and fixed any issues immediately. Very lenient and understanding, which improved the experience greatly. The rooms are lovely and there are facilities for anything needed. Would highly recommend this property to anyone.

Fantastic location 25 mins from Streatham Campus and 10-15 from St Lukes. About half an hour into town and big Morrisons about 15 mins walk away! There is a bus at the end of the road but honestly walking to uni is a breeze. The property itself is in brilliant condition, the landlord has always been speedy with any concerns and even ordered a new fridge for us at a moments notice when ours broke down in the height of exam season. Each room comes standard with a double bed, desk, desk chair and sizeable wardrobe and each room has pretty much the same stuff so no one feels short changed. Only downsides are the size of one of the rooms, the bathroom and the kitchen but no lack of quality despite this. Considering the exceptional price of the property slightly smaller kitchen, and bathrooms were well worth it and for a six person house it all works just fine. Bathroom facilities have worked well and any fixes were resolved quickly. Kitchen is well stocked with dryer, washing machine and electric appliances and everything has worked brilliantly. Peaceful residential area just off of the big student housing hubs, so perfect to get focus in but not feel like you're completely out of the way. Usually a fair bit of room to park a car or two on the road outside as well. Decent sized garden with shed for storage and plenty of room for a BBQ or chat outside and outdoor furniture was provided. Cannot speak highly enough of the landlord. He was exceptional throughout my time here and upon cleaning and organising to leave I did not feel as though there were any traps set to keep me from getting my deposit back, was even helpful at explaining exactly what was needed to make sure my deposit was returned.

I have lived at Monkswell Road for two years now and it continues to provide a perfect balance. The location is good to both campuses as well as shops and the rent is very affordable. Furthermore, as a landlord Charlie is great both in providing assistance when appliances are faulty as well as general bill maintenance.

Really helpful and organised landlord, prepared if anything needs fixing or replacing etc. The property has everything you need, feels secure and is on a nice street.

The location was very good about a 15-20minute walk to Streatham campus and about 5 minutes to St Lukes campus. There are a couple of shops and a very friendly pub less than a minute walk away which is very useful. The house itself is great for the price with everything you need and lots of extra storage space in the shed. The landlord is lovely and will help you with any problems that occur promptly. Overall a great house and I would recommend to anyone.

The house is in a reasonably good location in relation to campus and town, the kitchen isn’t massive but in every other sense the house is lovely! Compared to a lot of my friends the house is really good value too. The best part overall has been the Landlord - Charlie has been really helpful and clear any time we’ve needed something. If there have been issues he’s always been practical and more than reasonable too.

21 Monkswell road is a brilliant place to live. the location is good as university is only a 20 minute walk and town is also only another 20 minutes. There is also a few shops around and there is a train station 10 minutes away. It feels safe to be in as it is less busy than other student areas. Charlie is a great landlord and helped us out with whatever we needed. He also kept us informed about things such as our bills and how much they were and any work that would be happening to the house. Anything you needed sorted he’d be over to help. The house itself was really nice. The rooms are spacious and all have a good amount of sunlight. All in all a very good experience and sad to be leaving it for my final year.

Incredible, kind landlord who fixes things the moment things are broken or not going on as planned. Let’s us know when building works are happening with plenty of time. I would 100% recommend all of his properties, definitely the best landlord I’ve had with 4 years of renting in exeter!!

In all my time in Exeter I haven't had a better place to live in. The landlord went above and beyond to make my flatmates and I comfortable and safe. He was always reachable for any queery or help. The heating worked very efficiently during winter times and the shower pressure was like no other. The beds and mattresses were very comfortable. There are two bathrooms which proves very useful in a full house. The house living areas have got a home feeling of their own that you would not find in your average university house. The location of the property is ideal as it is a quick walk to both campuses and to the city center. Additionally, you are located near a variety of nice local pubs. I cannot recommend this property any more, it is truly a hidden gem in the world of university accommodation.

The house is approximately 10 minutes from the St Luke’s campus and 20/5 minutes from streatham. Both are easily accessible by walking. The house is also less than a 10 minute walk to the high street which is useful for shopping. The property has great bedroom sizes, good storage space and general communal areas. The kitchen is smaller than you would find in a typical 6-person house, but has not caused any issues throughout the year. The rent for the property is probably the best deal you can find in exeter. Charlie (the landlord) was extremely helpful with any issues we had through the year and was very accommodating to everyone’s personal finances when it came to paying rent. I would highly recommend Charlie as a landlord to anybody who is looking to rent with him.

Living at 21 Monkswell Road was a pleasure. Only A 15 minute walk into town and a 20 minute walk to streatham campus made it an ideal location. It was the cheapest rent I’d had in Exeter whilst also including bills. Charlie the landlord was really helpful. If there was ever an issue he would be quick to get it sorted. I would completely recommend Charlie as a landlord.

The nicest landlord I have ever had. Charlie has been great and replied speedily to all our questions. The rooms are all amazing and the house feels like a home.

A good location only about a 25 minute walk from town and the university. The landlord was helpful and sorted any maintenance issues that were brought up.

Great location, very reasonably priced rent, and couldn’t possibly fault the landlord, Charlie. He is very nice and approachable regarding any issues and very quick to resolve them.

The location on Monkswell was perfect as it wasn’t in the centre of students but a nice walk away from the university. The property was very nice and cosy and we managed to keep it clean so the kitchen didn’t get too messy and hard to cook in. Charlie was such a wonderful landlord and responded to any of our requests and questions very quickly. He also came in and did repairs when needed which was very helpful and kind. Overall I have thoroughly enjoyed living here this year.

Lovely house for a great price! Charlie was an amazing landlord who dealt with any issues we had quickly. Would highly recommend both the house and Charlie for future students.

I don’t think I could fault Charlie as a landlord if I tried. He’s constantly been attentive, generous, helpful and pragmatic through our entire tenancy. A lot of students worry about difficult landlords or reporting problems. But we have never had such issues. Any problems, Charlie has been quick to fix and has always seemed to really care that we are comfortable and at ease in our house. 10/10 and if I could give higher I would. The house itself is good, especially for the price which is much lower than the student average. The location is a little out of the way, but nowhere is further than 35 minutes walk so it’s never been a huge issue.

Charlie’s house is in prime location for getting to university and town. It’s on a road that’s a nice blend between students and locals so it’s never too loud but never too quiet. Ive enjoyed living in the property for such a good price in comparison to some other rent rates in Exeter. The bedrooms are all a lovely size and comfortable enough for all your things. Although the living room and kitchen are smaller than other properties, we made it work. Charlie was always so accommodating and helpful when we’d need something fixed or advice/ help with things in the house. We couldn’t have asked for a better landlord.

I wholeheartedly give this property and the landlord 10 out of 10. I couldn't fault my experience of living here in any way. The landlord has always been available and sorted any issues extremely quickly and efficiently. The rooms were light and spacious with laminate floors (no nasty carpets!) and were furnished with desks, chest of drawers and a wardrobe each. All were in great condition. Rental rates were extremely competitive, affordable and great value for money. You won't find a better student property - I've tried!

The house was recently refurbished and had all the necessary appliances (including an amazing fridge/freezer). Whenever there were any problems with anything in the house the landlord was prompt and nice about it, calling whoever was needed round or even coming himself if it was required. All in all I spent a great 2 years there.

Our house has shaped our University experience - it's homely and quirky, and the rent is so reasonable. The bedrooms are really spacious and there is a lovely garden. Plus the landlord is very approachable and has been great at responding to our needs. The house will be sorely missed!

I had a lot of fun in this lovely house, and our landlord was always accomodating when there were any problems. There are modern furnishings and all the mod-cons you could want as a student. I was sad to move out.

The house on Mt Pleasant is spacious and modern. Even though there are seven bedrooms they are all of a good size and the furniture is well looked after. The landlord is easy to get hold of and is understanding of the needs of student tenants.

  31. B

    Bradley

A very good landlord and a very good student house. The landlord is prompt if there is a problem but also not over-bearing. No surprise inspections or unwelcome visits. He is always cheerful and ignores the little bits of mess that may have accumulated like a pro! The house was in good condition and had many appliances which other student houses could only dream of! On the whole a fantastic uni experience helped massively by a fantastic house.

  32. P

    Philippa

The house is modern, clean and bright and very obviously well looked after by the landlord. The kitchen is modern, the bedrooms all have double beds, there are two bathrooms and a spacious living room too. The landlord is also fantastic- he is efficient and organised yet also understanding and caring about his tennants. I would thoroughly recommend living here to anyone!

This is a fab house - comfortable, cosy, quirky, clean, ideal for students. The landlord is a really nice guy - friendly and very helpful. I had a great time in this house, definately a bargain find!

Anyone who wants a house that will stand out from the rest and make everyone jealous should definitely check this place out...it's so quirky and individual! The landlord is a legend and is really good at helping you out with any issues.

I have rented from Town House Properties for three years (two years at Monkswell and one year at Oxford Road) and have had an excellent time all three years. The houses are all lovely, cool and modern. Ace furniture, appliances and all really clean. The landlord is very friendly and approachable. Definitely worth viewing any of the houses.
