Newman University is based on a single-site campus on Birmingham which focuses on interactive teaching, personal wellbeing and high academic standards. Newman offers students a selection of degrees that are relevant to the modern world, all including a work placement module to help students develop their transferable skills. There are currently just over 2,700 students attending the University.

    Newman University ranked 9th out of 131 UK universities in the ‘Course and Lecturers’ category of the Whatuni Student Choice Awards 2019, after many students at the University proved to be positive about the quality of the teaching. It places 26th out of 81 on the WUSCA ranking in 2024.

    Every full-time three or four year degree contains a work placement element, allowing students to gain the graduate level work experience valued by employers. This helps students refine their career options, leading Newman University to have one of the best employment rates at universities in the UK.

  • Fees

    All undergraduate courses at Newman University have a tuition fee of £9,250.

  • Bursaries

    The Newman University Support Fund provides financial assistance for students experiencing hardship. Non-­repayable grants are available; however, the amount varies from year- to-year. There are also bursaries available for students with disabilities; more information can be found here.

Voted the best Students’ Union in Birmingham, Newman University’s SU acts in the interest of students and are a critical friend to the University. The Union provides development opportunities, support networks, events and activities for all students attending the University.

Famous for

Newman University has recently placed 20th out of 130 UK universities for Student Satisfaction, climbing 54 places compared to the year before. This makes Newman University the highest in the rankings out of all West Midlands County.

News

Newman University has recently signed the ‘Stand Alone Pledge’ meaning the University has publicly committed to supporting students who are studying without the support if approval of a family network.
